On Friday we went to the north end of Lake Biwa. There is a road, actually there are a few roads (we found out) that are lined for miles with cherry trees. On the weekend it's bumper to bumper and you creep along (which wouldn't really be so bad under a tunnel of blossoms).

| Wild boar potato croquettes - straight out of the oil - delicious! |
| Driving was a little difficult with cars, bikes, pedestrians but nothing like the weekend. |
| See the lines of sakura along the roads in the background? |
| lunch time |
| blueberry ice cream |
And then to a few more of Shioli's secret places.
| another tunnel |
| Some of the rice fields were already flooded. |
