The trees along the little river behind my apt. are in full bloom. We finally had a day with a blue sky but unfortunately it was a work day... I took a quick detour on my way to work though.
Then after work Yuko took Emily and me to her favorite place in Maibara, a town just north of Hikone. Here are some photos of the Hikone castle moat from the car.
And here is the quiet little area that Yuko likes. Evidently on weekends it's packed and they also light up the trees at night so I'm sure it's crowded then as well. But we had the place pretty much to ourselves around 5:30 or 6pm.

Afterwards we stopped for a quick dinner and cherry ice cream at Baskin Robbins!
A nice ending to a special evening.
