Sorry, I just can't help myself!!!! It's sooooo beautiful and I want to share it with you! So here are some MORE pictures from the castle area. Words are not needed.

| Booths selling festival foods. Octopus balls, corn, crepes, squid, etc. |
 |
| Shioli and Akina. I learned a new phrase. 'Hanami' means viewing the flowers, usually by sitting on a mat under the trees eating and drinking. 'Hana yori dango' means the food you eat and what you drink are more important than the actual flower viewing. I don't know if I'd go that far, but we did have some yummy things to snack on. Little sandwiches, a fruit and nut cake/bread, pumpkin pudding and flavored thin mochi. |
 |
| Reiko and her mother came from Yokohama to visit. They found us after they went up to see the castle. |
 |
| Those are just two huge trees. One of my favorite views. |

This is my secret place. Last year I was able to come here everyday for a picnic lunch before work.
Unfortunately this was my first time this year. Quiet and beautiful. |
Tomorrow I'm going on a boat to an island on Lake Biwa so I think you'll get a break from sakura... but there are still some that haven't bloomed yet so there will be more!
