2016-04-09, More Sakura at Hikone Castle

Sorry, I just can't help myself!!!!  It's sooooo beautiful and I want to share it with you!  So here are some MORE pictures from the castle area.  Words are not needed.

Booths selling festival foods.  Octopus balls, corn, crepes, squid, etc.

Shioli and Akina.  I learned a new phrase.  'Hanami' means viewing the flowers, usually by sitting on a mat under the trees eating and drinking.  'Hana yori dango' means the food you eat and what you drink are more important than the actual flower viewing.  I don't know if I'd go that far, but we did have some yummy things to snack on.  Little sandwiches, a fruit and nut cake/bread, pumpkin pudding and flavored thin mochi.

Reiko and her mother came from Yokohama to visit.  They found us after they went up to see the castle.

Those are just two huge trees.  One of my favorite views.

This is my secret place.  Last year I was able to come here everyday for a picnic lunch before work.
Unfortunately this was my first time this year.  Quiet and beautiful.

Tomorrow I'm going on a boat to an island on Lake Biwa so I think you'll get a break from sakura...  but there are still some that haven't bloomed yet so there will be more!
